Django updating models

Note It is permissible to specify a multi-valued field to order the results by for example, a ManyToManyField field, or the reverse relation of a ForeignKey field. For a distinct call with specified field names, the database will only compare the specified field names. The primary key field is read-only.

However, sometimes you may need to associate data with the relationship between two models. See also See the Many-to-many relationship model example for a full example. This eliminates duplicate rows from the query results. This guarantees that no records are skipped or duplicated. See the note in distinct for an explanation of how related model ordering can change the expected results.

Insert the data into the database. The above example will return the last item first, then the penultimate item and so on. The optional exclude argument lets you provide a list of field names to exclude from validation.

See also See the One-to-one relationship model example for a full example. The only way to create this type of relationship is to create instances of the intermediate model. As a consequence, your database must be able to interpret the value of tzinfo. For example, consider the case of an application tracking the musical groups which musicians belong to. However, there is a lot of detail about the membership that you might want to collect, such as the date at which the person joined the group.

This specifies how to order the results. Only fields of the model are reloaded from the database.
